Michael L. Hoyle Founder & CEO
Mike has been in corporate aviation for over 35 years. He earned his Bachelor degree in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach in 1973. Mike is type rated in 6 corporate jet aircraft and 2 military fighter jets and has held an FAA pilot proficiency examiners license in the Falcon 50 aircraft. He has over 11,000 hours of flight time and numerous Atlantic crossings. For 15 years Mike was employed by BP America where he served as Chief Pilot. His tenure with BP included a temporary duty assignment as project manager in Bogotá, Colombia where he spent 10 months establishing a 5 helicopter, 3 fixed wing operations including the building of a corporate hangar, a helicopter operations base and helipads at all oil rigs run by BP in South America
Mike founded Charter Air Transport, Inc. in 2005 which quickly became one of the largest 30 passenger charter providers in the country. Charter Air Transport maintained an annual growth of 25% yearly from 2008 to 2011 during the economy’s worst recession. In July 2012 he divested his interest in the company and returned to his first love of corporate aircraft. He has owned and operated 3 Fixed Base Operations (FBO) in Ohio with the last one, AVITAT Cleveland, being sold in 2005. Business Aircraft Group recently purchased the oldest jet charter operator in Salt Lake City Utah in order to expand the service and develop a larger base of operations.
